Sad Songs To Ease The Heart

I think it is the time of year. I always find the change to fall season hard.

Here are a few sad songs to ease the heart:

Mamma I'm Coming Home - Ozzy Osbourne

My son introduced me to Ozzy's solo work, as a huge fan. I shed a tear when he sang this song at his last concert, and I probably will every time I see it from here on out.

La Dispute - Environmental Catastophe Film

This song is about change and how fast things move. How we can't slow things down. I tend to be nostalgic and want to hang on to memories so heavily. This one cuts deep.

Iron Maiden- The Final Frontier

I feel like I have been listening to this song for years, but it hit me lately. Some people know that the final part of their life is happening in real time, and some are hit with something instantaneous.

In Mourning - The Sojourner

This song seems to be about letting go, having that realization that you can't change it. Don't you wish you could, sometimes?

Saturnus - Even Tide

Sometimes death is so complicated. It involves so much internal struggle for the person who is moving towards it. This song makes me think of a specific loss of someone dear to me. This person didn't want to be here anymore because dementia had begun to take over.

Svalbard - Eternal Spirits

This song is about the loss of an inspirational musician, but I feel like it can also be other types of legacies and desires that are left behind when you lose someone dear to you. Most recently, I lost someone so dear to me, and became interested in things she was always creating when she was alive. Now I find myself doing these things and thinking of her.

Opeth - In My Time of Need

I know that feeling of being in need and not asking for help or getting it. Some of the hardest times are the ones you feel alone.
