I just hate the chanty choir that isn't Devin. Listen, I enjoy singing in a choir and I get that appeal, but I don't like to listen to it. It is a ruiner for me. Devin's voice stands out, and it should, since this is his song. The main part with his voice is memorable. You can tell it is pretty easy for him.

Music

The music reminds me of gospel music. Does Devin have a background with this kind of thing? It has that theatrical epic feel. It seems to build in this as the song progresses, but for me, it is too much. Devin can do what he wants. I appreciate the genuine nature of what he made here.

Lyrics

I think this is encouraging people to move past some of the pains of life, realize your worth and live another day. I like the positive message of determination. The reference to spirits colliding makes me wonder if it is referring to resistance from people that don't get you, that you have to rise above.
