Vocals

I like how this opened with the choir-like singing. It makes sense for this band, and is done well. The great vocals continued throughout. I like how Vicky did so many different things with her voice, yet stayed sounding uniquely her!

Music

I like how it started with the piano. I wasn't sure if it would be a ballad, but I said "yes!" audibly when it started into the music after the piano. They are staying consistently them, and I liked this. The drums have a great pace, the guitar is nice and fast when it needs to be, yet changes it up throughout. I like the layout. Everything works well together.

Lyrics

I think this is talking about the moments before death. Is it because this was a death that seems so wrong? Some really do seem like they happened too soon, or under terrible circumstances. I often wonder about this. It feels like there are deaths where there is time to think, while other deaths that happen in seconds. I guess this new EP they announced will elaborate on what this specific story is.

You could also look at this as not actual death, but a fight that feels like a fight to the death. Maybe a mental health struggle.
